Growing up, my mother worked for a travel agency in Utica, New York. I remember being around 8 years old when she would put me to work in the back room with boxes of travel and cruise brochures that I would have to rubber stamp each one with “Karen Travel” reservation information. I would flip through the pages of the most beautiful photography of faraway places; the Egyptian Pyramids, the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, Roman Colosseum, Great Barrier Reef of Australia, Acropolis of Athens, etc.  And this is exactly when and where my love for both photography and travel was born. I was lucky enough to be the one she took to all of those faraway places I previously named. Travel became a desire so strong that I built my life around being able to make it a priority.
